Transplanting, revisited

Two weeks ago we spent a muddy morning transplanting rice, and today we got to see the results of our efforts. Our seedbeds have been transformed from half-submerged piles of brown goo into verdant strips of promising young seedlings. In the paddy, growing rice plants smile up at a cloud-laced tropical sky. I am happy.
